The Schwintek In Wall Slide System is a compact slide mechanism commonly used on smaller and medium sized RV slide rooms. It uses synchronized electric motors and vertical gear tracks mounted along both sides of the slide room to move the room in and out.
WHAT IT IS
HOW IT WORKS
Two electric motors work together to move the slide room along the gear tracks on each side. The motors must stay synchronized so both sides of the room travel evenly.
Once you begin extending or retracting the slide, continue holding the switch until the room has completed its full travel. Do not stop the slide partway through its movement unless necessary.
Once the slide has completed its action, continue holding the button for an additional 3 to 5 seconds. This helps the motors stay synchronized and allows the system to complete its cycle.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
Watch both sides of the slide as it moves. The room should travel evenly without one side leading, binding, jerking, or making unusual noises. Check that the slide seals make proper contact, the gear tracks are clean and undamaged, and the room fully extends and retracts without stopping short.
COMMON PROBLEMS
Common issues can include the motors falling out of synchronization, one side of the room moving ahead of the other, damaged or worn gear tracks, loose mounting hardware, wiring or motor problems, and slide seals that do not make proper contact.
If the room starts moving unevenly, binds, hesitates, or makes unusual noises, stop using the slide until the cause is identified.

During an inspection, operate the slide fully in and fully out while watching both sides of the room. Check for smooth, even movement and listen for unusual sounds.
Inspect the gear tracks, seals, visible wiring, and mounting points. Look for signs of rubbing, damaged components, uneven gaps, or evidence that the room is not sealing consistently.
After the slide reaches the end of its travel, continue holding the switch for 3 to 5 seconds to help keep the motors synchronized.
